Foster the People -Pumped up kicks



One day you wake up and you hear this familiar voice talking over the phone, and you realize that you don't much like anything they are saying. Worse, now they are talking about you in a less than flattering way, and complaining about everything under the sun. You wonder "Where did I go WRONG?"

Why do they feel that way, when did they start sounding so shallow and cynical? Do they really hate everyone here that much?

You have all these happier memories of their soccer days, and birthday parties, and you wonder when did those days stop and these start? Well, who knows, but it happens a lot, we all know children grow up and teenagerdom, is just an inevitable part of that. Of course, we want to see them taking steps towards adulthood, getting the learner's permit, then the license, going to the Prom, gaining work experience after school and during their Summers, but we wonder why do they seem so distant and disconnected from us.

Much as we love them, we find they don't want to make the time of day for us, or so it seems and it is increasingly hard to relate to them, in the ways we once did so easily. Well the good news is there are things to do about all of that. Here are just a few ideas that have helped me stay in tune with my many teenagers! Not all work with each one, you have to sort of size up the situation
